Sarah Jagoda

I study and sing folk songs from my family's roots in Eastern Europe. When my Jewish great-grandmother Sarah left Poland as a teen, she immigrated to the US on false papers, using another girl's name. Most of her remaining family members were killed in the Holocaust. I study music from that part of the world as a way to explore and reclaim my own history, and learn to be a better advocate for all my neighbors to live safe and free.
